TECAPET

TECAPET Back to news listing

30 Nov 2009

Time is money – this is also true when processing PET plastics. For this reason, ENSINGER has developed a new formulation for its TECAPET material. Considerably higher cutting speeds can be achieved when machining the material – with consistently good quality of the surfaces and the formed edges. In addition, the new TECAPET with its high degree of whiteness satisfies the exacting requirements of the pharmaceutical and foodstuffs technology industries. Mechanical and tribological properties are maintained at the same high level.

The requirements placed on materials in the production of precision components are continuously rising. In comparison to conventional PET materials, new TECAPET can be cut more precisely and 20 to 30 percent faster. Productivity increases, as chipping and cavities in the material arise only rarely due to the high working speed.

The thermoplastic material is very creep and abrasion resistant with a high degree of hardness and stiffness. It has outstanding dimensional stability, good electrical insulating properties and is resistant to radiation. In addition, the dirt and stain-repellent material is resistant to oils, fats and acids.

TECAPET and TECAPET black find applications in almost all branches of industry – from semi-conductor production to mechanical engineering. Applications include, for example, switches, plugs, sensor casings and contact strips in the electrical engineering and electronics industries; guide rails, sliding bearings, rollers and gripper arms for transport and conveyor technology; stirring and kneading elements in the foodstuffs industry and functional parts for medication dosing systems.
