Company History

1966 to date

ENSINGER at Tonyrefail in South Wales is the UK headquarters of parent company, ENSINGER GmbH, based in Nufringen in Germany. In 1966 when, using simple equipment in a garage, Wilfried Ensinger attempted to extrude innovative plastics into semi-finished products, he never dreamed of the success his efforts would bring.

A feel for technical feasibility and new applications made Wilfried Ensinger a pioneer in the development of high performance plastics. In the last forty years, he and his inventive employees have succeeded in manufacturing engineering and high performance plastics for a very wide range of applications using an innovative range of manufacturing methods. Today, under the second generation management, ENSINGER has around 1,800 employees worldwide.

One fundamental reason for the continuous growth of the group is without doubt the fact that our products are developed and manufactured from completely new materials and therefore constantly find their way into new applications - applications which previously have either been impossible or have only been possible at great expense using metals and ceramics.
